Williams finishes third in the triple jump at the British Olympic Trials
Louisville's Ben Williams finished third in the triple jump at the British Athletics Olympic trials on Saturday afternoon. Â
" It was great to see Ben finish in the top three at the British Olympic Trials," said head coach Dale Cowper. "He has been working through a very painful ankle injury throughout the outdoor season and this is yet another performance that is a testament to his will power and determination." Â
Williams finished third with a jump of 16.31m. Â The event was closely contested, Nathan Douglas won the event with a jump of 16.58m. This season, Williams earned All-America honors during the indoor and outdoor season in the triple jump. Â He is also the two-time ACC triple jump champion. Â Â
