
Five Cardinals Selected to Play in USA Field Hockey’s Young Women’s National Championship

McCrudden, Sloss, Stone, Walsh and Woods will compete in USA Field Hockey's Young Women’s National Championship
The University of Louisville field hockey team placed five players to USA Field Hockey's Young Women's National Championship. Erin McCrudden, Shannon Sloss, Taylor Stone, Katie Walsh Nicole Woods will compete in the tournament which will be held June 28 – July 2 in Lancaster, Pa.
The Young Women's National Championship serves as a high level, international structured competition and the selection venue for the 2016-17 U.S. U-21 Women's National Team.
McCrudden, a rising senior from Putnam Valley, N.Y., played in all 20 games with 18 starts in 2015. The midfielder scored three goals and dished out three assists and earned National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-West Region second team honors.
Sloss, a rising senior forward from Pequea, Pa., has started in each of her seasons at Louisville and has 18 career goals and four assists.
Stone, a rising sophomore defender from Herndon, Va.,played in 16 games with eight starts while battling injury as a freshman. She was named to USA Field Hockey's Under 19 team Germany Tour which took place in May.
Walsh, a rising sophomore midfielder from Louisville, Ky., played in 12 games during her rookie campaign.
Woods, a rising junior forward/midfielder from Beverly, Mass., started every game for the Cardinals and was an NFHCA All-West Region first team selection and an All-ACC second team pick. She is a member of USA Field Hockey's Under 21 team and was selected to the Junior Pan American Games roster.
