
Track and Field Wraps Up Competition at the Hilltopper Relays on Saturday

Cardinals finish with one win and seven top five finishes
BOWLING GREEN, KY. – The Louisville track and field team wrapped up competition at the Hilltopper Relays on Saturday afternoon. The women's 4x100 meter relay team finished with a win to lead the Cardinals on the second day of competition. Overall, Louisville finished the day with seven top five finishes. Â
The women's 4x100 meter relay team of Alexis Murry, Kayla Tyson, Bre'Yana Wash and Raven Grant won the event with a time of 45.78. Grant also finished third in the women's 100 meter with a time of 11.84. It is the second straight finish for the freshman in the top three this outdoor season.
Murry registered a fourth place finish in the 100m hurdles.  She finished with a time of 14.25 for her second top 10 finish of the season. Â
On the men's side, Isaac Bowling led the Cardinals with a third place finish in the men's shot put invitational. Bowling finished with a mark of 17.02m/55-10.25, for his third straight top three finish this season. Codie Hamsley finished fourth in the men's discus with a throw of 52.29m/171-07. Â
In the long jump, Jeron Brown finished fourth with a season best mark of 6.98m/22-11.00. Newcomer Cody Swabek capped off the Cardinals' top five finishes with a fourth place finish in the javelin throw. He finished with a season best throw of 45.93m/150-08.
The Cardinals will be back in action next weekend as they host the Louisville Invitational April 15-16.
