Track and Field Wraps Up Competition at the Hilltopper Relays on Saturday

Cardinals finish with one win and seven top five finishes

BOWLING GREEN, KY. – The Louisville track and field team wrapped up competition at the Hilltopper Relays on Saturday afternoon. The women's 4x100 meter relay team finished with a win to lead the Cardinals on the second day of competition. Overall, Louisville finished the day with seven top five finishes.

The women's 4x100 meter relay team of Alexis Murry, Kayla Tyson, Bre'Yana Wash and Raven Grant won the event with a time of 45.78. Grant also finished third in the women's 100 meter with a time of 11.84. It is the second straight finish for the freshman in the top three this outdoor season.

Murry registered a fourth place finish in the 100m hurdles. She finished with a time of 14.25 for her second top 10 finish of the season.

On the men's side, Isaac Bowling led the Cardinals with a third place finish in the men's shot put invitational. Bowling finished with a mark of 17.02m/55-10.25, for his third straight top three finish this season. Codie Hamsley finished fourth in the men's discus with a throw of 52.29m/171-07.

In the long jump, Jeron Brown finished fourth with a season best mark of 6.98m/22-11.00. Newcomer Cody Swabek capped off the Cardinals' top five finishes with a fourth place finish in the javelin throw. He finished with a season best throw of 45.93m/150-08.

The Cardinals will be back in action next weekend as they host the Louisville Invitational April 15-16.
