Women's Tennis Set to Host Georgia Tech and Syracuse

Cards wind down home season
The University of Louisville women's tennis team welcomes ACC foes to the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center when the Cards play Georgia Tech on Friday at 3:00 p.m. and Syracuse on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. for the Cards final two home matches of the season.

The Cardinals (8-13, 0-10) are coming of a 5-1 win over longtime rival Cincinnati on Sunday. After taking the doubles point, Cincinnati took the first singles point to tie it up at 1-1, but it was all Louisville after that, securing the next four singles points to take the match. Abbie Pahz continued her hot play by taking down Katya Bure 6-3, 6-0 improving her record to 14-5 on the season. Elle Stokes, Olivia Boesing, and Sena Suswam all won on their courts. Boesing and Pahz and Stokes and Jessie Paul paired up to take the doubles point.

The Yellow Jackets bring a 13-6 overall record, an 8-2 conference record, and a No. 17 national ranking into Friday's match after topping No. 12 Virginia 4-3 on Sunday. Georgia Tech is led by #32 singles player Johnnise Renaud, followed by #37 Paige Hourigan. The pairing of Kendal Woodard and Paige Hourigan bring a No. 13 ranking after defeating Virginia's No. 21 doubles pair.

No. 32 Syracuse comes into Sunday's matchup with a 10-6 overall record and a 4-6 conference record after defeating No. 19 Wake Forest 4-3 and Florida State 6-1 over the weekend. The Orange is lead in singles by No. 69 Anna Shkudun and No. 81 Gabriela Knuston and the pair of Knuston and Valeria Salazar Garza lead the way in doubles ranked No. 28.

Following this weekend's action, the Cardinals will end the season with a trip to Florida when it takes on Florida State on April 15 and Miami on April 17.
