
Sciot-Siegrist Named Semifinalist for the Jack Nicklaus Award

Senior won his second straight ACC title last week.
LOUISVILLE, Ky.- – Louisville men's golfer Robin Sciot-Siegrist was named as a semifinalist for the 2016 Division I Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Friday.
The field of 30 semifinalists will be narrowed down on May 25, with the Nicklaus Award recipients being announced on June 2 during the final round of the Memorial Tournament. The award is given to five individuals, all of whom will be invited to compete at the Barbasol Shootout for a chance to qualify at the Barbasol Championship, held July 14-17 in Opelika, Ala.
Sciot-Siegrist, who enters the NCAA Regionals ranked No. 47 in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index, became the fourth player in ACC history to win consecutive league championships after winning title last weekend in New London, N.C. Sciot-Siegrist fired a 10-under par 206 -- the third-best total of his career.
It was Sciot-Siegrist's third tournament win in his career. Inlcuding last season's league title, he also won the Boilermaker Invitational in 2012-13.
A native Rueil-Malmaison, France, Sciot-Siegrist leads the Cardinals with a remarkable 71.33 per round stroke average this season. In his last three events, Sciot-Siegrist has posted three-straight top-10 finishes, including a second-place finish at the Clemson Invitational.
The Cardinals will learn their NCAA Regional fate on Thursday, May. 5 at 9:30 a.m.
