Seven Cardinals Compete at Florida Relays on Thursday

Gainesville, Fla. – The Louisville track and field team competed in four events on Thursday at the Florida Relays. Freshman Raven Grant led the Cardinals with a personal best in the women's 200m open.

"Raven was the highlight for us today," said head coach Dale Cowper. "Her time of 23.77 was not only a career best but it was only two tenths of a second from Elizabeth Slettum's school record."

Grant ran a personal best time of 23.77 in the women's 200m open to finish 24^th. She finished 10^th among collegians and was one of three freshmen to finish in the top 25. Her time of 23.77 was just two tenths from Elizabeth Slettum's record of 23.58 set in 2007.

Also in the 200m, Holly Hankenson finished 53^rd with a personal best time of 25.06 and Linda Mutter finished 65^th with a time of 27.59. Eric Fox finished 37^th in the 400m with a personal best time of 51.32.
Alexis Murry finished 22^nd in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:03.77.

In the first field events, Darrius Lopez finished 16^th in the hammer throw with a mark of 57.82m/189-08. Nils Westrich finished 18^th with a distance of 56.40m /185-00.
