Field Hockey Places 10 on NFHCA National Academic Squad

Senior Elisa Garcia earns the honor for the fourth time

The academic honors continue to accumulate for the University of Louisville field hockey team which placed 10 players on the 2015 ZAG Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Academic Squad.

The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2015-16 academic year.

Senior Elisa Garcia received special recognition as a four-time honoree and is joined by teammates Stephanie Byrne, Maria Gomez, Abby Grimes, Lotta Kahlert, Madison Land, Erin McCrudden, Marigrace Ragsdale, Shannon Sloss and Nicole Woods.

The Cardinals finished the 2015 campaign with a 13-7 overall record and made their second-straight NCAA appearance. Louisville was ranked No. 11 in the final Penn Monto/NFHCA National Coaches Poll released on Nov. 10 and spent seven weeks among the top 10 in the nation after opening the 2015 season at No. 12.
