Cards stand in 10th place after two rounds
GREENSBORO, Ga. – Keegan de Lange fired a 3-under par to pace the University of Louisville men's golf team after Sunday's opening round of play at the 2016 Linger Longer Invitational. The Cardinals finished the day with a team total of 1-over par 289 and is in 10th place heading into Monday's second round.
The teams battled windy conditions throughout Sunday's first round as tee times were delayed an hour due to frost warnings in the Greensboro area.
Two Louisville players shot under par on the par-72, 7,073-yard Great Waters Golf Club at Reynolds Lake Oconee course. De Lange, who was in the top five last week, is tied for seventh place after shooting 69 on Sunday. Robin Sciot-Siegrist is tied for 22nd after firing 71 after one round of action.
J.D. Lehman is tied for 42nd place after shooting a 2-over par 74, while Erik Dulik is tied for 50th place after shooting 75. Simon Zach is tied for 70th after carding an 80 on Sunday.
Louisville heads in to the second round behind No. 25 Purdue, who holds the lead after totaling a team score of 11-under par 277. Tournament host Kennesaw State is currently in second place with a 10-under 278, while No. 22 Virginia is in third at 9-under par 279.
