Senior continues to rack up honors
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — University of Louisville senior men's golfer Robin Sciot-Siegrist has been named one of 10 semifinalists for the Byron Nelson Award. The honor is presented each year to the senior college golfer who excels on the course, in the classroom and in the community.
Sciot-Siegrist is ranked 47th in the nation in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin rankings and is a strong candidate to make the European Palmer Cup team. He leads the Cardinals with a 71.50 stroke average through six events this season, and owns a pair of top-five finishes this year.
So far this year, Sciot-Siegrist was third at the Dick's SEC Challenge and placed second at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. Through 18 rounds, he is 6-under par in those six events and has played the last two events at 10-under par to finish seventh and eighth, respectively.
Joining Sciot-Siegrist on the list of finalists are Stephen Behr, Jr., of Clemson, Alex Burge and Charles Danielson of Illinois, Chris O'Neill of Michigan, A.J. McInernry of UNLV, Will Starke of South Carolina, Jonathan Sanders of Washington, Dominic Kieffer of Colorado State, and Jordan Niebrugger of Oklahoma State.
Louisville will next be in action March 11-13 at the Seminole Intercollegiate in Tallahassee, Fla.
