Women's Tennis Hits the Road for ACC Swing

Cards will face nationally ranked Wake Forest and Virginia
The University of Louisville women's tennis team (6-4) is set to hit the road again this weekend when they travel to take on No. 27 Wake Forest on Friday at 2 p.m. and No. 18 Virginia on Sunday at 11 a.m.
Louisville fell last weekend at Pitt, 5-2, and at No. 32 Notre Dame, 6-1. Sophomore Abbie Pahz is the only Cardinal to have won both singles matches after defeating Pitt freshman Clara Lucas 6-1, 7-5, and defeating Notre Dame junior Jane Fennelly 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.
Wake Forest (9-1) is coming off an ACC season opener loss at No. 21 Clemson and the Cardinals will be Wake Forest's ACC home opener. Wake's sophomore Joanna Zalewski is a perfect 10-0 in singles matches this season and is riding a 12 match win steak dating back to the fall season into Friday's matchup. Wake's Kimmy Guerin is ranked No. 82 in the latest ITA rankings.
Virginia (5-3) is coming off of a win against No. 62 Syracuse in New York last Sunday. The Cardinals will also be Virginia's ACC home opener this coming Sunday. Virginia has three players ranked in the Top 70 in the ITA rankings with Danielle Collins ranked No. 3, Julia Elbaba ranked No. 18, and Stephanie Nauta ranked No. 69. Virginia also boasts the No. 23 doubles duo of Collins and Meghan Kelley.
