AnnMarie Habelow on Louisville
"I chose to be a Louisville Cardinal because I wanted a change of scenery out of the Northeast, and Louisville easily caught my eye. I was looking for a competitive program and Louisville is consistently one of the top teams in Division I field hockey. The city of Louisville provides a welcoming, southern vibe unrivaled by any other school I looked at, so it immediately felt like home. I instantly was able to build a strong relationship with the entire coaching staff and am excited to work with their specific coaching styles this fall."Â
Â
Justine Sowry on AnnMarie Habelow
"I am thrilled that AnnMarie chose to be a Cardinal for the next four years. AnnMarie is mature beyond her years and she certainly did a lot of research with careful consideration in deciding on her college. We were able to evaluate her extensively and we are confident that she will be a significant player for our team. Her development and improvement since her verbal commitment has been impressive with selection to numerous USA field hockey camps and tournaments and those experiences will help her readiness to make an impact in her first year. As a central defender, she reads the game well and has excellent vision and distribution skills to set up the attack. Her demeanor suggests a quiet confidence that, coupled with excellent leadership skills, will enable her to be a key contributor through the backfield."Â
