Dani Busboom Kelly Earns National Coaching Award

Columbus, Ohio - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced University of Nebraska Assistant Coach Dani Busboom Kelly has been selected as the 2016 AVCA Division I Assistant Coach of the Year. Stanford Head Women's Volleyball Coach John Dunning was selected as the 2016 USMC/AVCA Division I Coach of the Year, while The announcements were made at the Jostens Coaches Honors Luncheon held in conjunction with the AVCA Convention.

Busboom Kelly was named head volleyball coach for the University of Louisville. She will join the Cardinals at the end of the Huskers' run at the NCAA Championship being held in Columbus, Ohio.

Busboom Kelly is in her fifth season as an assistant for the Huskers and serves as the lead recruiting coordinator and coaches the setters and liberos. She helped libero Justine Wong-Orantes win back-to-back Big Ten Libero Year of the awards and guided setter Kelly Hunter to quarterback the offense to a .290 team hitting percentage She acts as a mentor to former student-athletes about transitioning from player to coach.
