Louisville native Elizabeth Allgeier signs with the Cardinals
University of Louisville head field hockey coach Justine Sowry has announced that Elizabeth Allgeier has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Cardinals starting in the fall of 2017. She is one of eight newcomers expected to join the U of L field hockey program, with the other signees to be announced in the upcoming weeks.
Â
"We are very excited to announce our 2017 incoming freshman class," said Sowry. "Having graduated one of our bigger classes, the group is not only large in size but will also add incredible depth to our current roster. Our coaching staff has worked tirelessly the last few years and as a result we have a group of young women who will add tremendous value to our program and we anticipate that some will make an immediate impact in the 2017 season."Â
Â
The players come from far and wide with diverse and successful playing resumes. Not only are they very good hockey players, they are great young women with strong academics and are very well rounded with strong community service involvement. Each athlete has been prepared well by strong club, high school or USA development coaching. I am excited for the group to arrive on campus so we can get busy in taking the next step for our Louisville Field Hockey program."Â
