That figure is not inclusive of six exhibition games the teams played in 2005, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015 — all UofL victories. Louisville won the first meeting 79-52 at Bellarmine on Dec. 6, 1960, a year in which John Turner lead the Cardinals to a 21-8 record and UofL's third NCAA Tournament appearance.
Â
Jaylen Johnson scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds off the bench as Louisville posted a 71-55 exhibition victory over Bellarmine in the last meeting between the teams (11-1-15). After building a 32-26 halftime lead, the Cardinals led by as much as 22 points in the second half. The Cardinals limited Bellarmine -- a team that would go on to rank third in NCAA Division II in field goal percentage last season (.535) to 32 percent accuracy from the field. Josh Derksen, who transferred to Kentucky Wesleyan after the season, led BU with 20 points.
