Louisville plays its third straight home game in the KFC Yum! Center to start the season as the Cardinals face the Long Beach State 49ers on Thursday. The game is the first of four for UofL in the Battle 4 Atlantis, with the remaining three games to be played at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas.

Louisville has won its first two outings, including a 91-58 victory over William & Mary on Monday as UofL collected 10 steals, blocked 11 shots and six Cardinals scored nine or more points.

Four Cardinals are averaging double figures after the first two games of the season. Junior Jaylen Johnson leads the Cardinals in scoring and rebounding with 16.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. Sophomore Donovan Mitchell is second in scoring with 12 points per game. Freshman VJ King is second in scoring with 11.5 points per game while Deng Adel averages 11.0 points per game. Quentin Snider and Adel lead the Cardinals with seven assists. Â

The 49ers return three starters from last season when it posted a 20-15 record, finished third in the Big West Conference, reached the postseason NIT and posted a final RPI of 84. Long Beach State beat Cal State Los Angeles 95-59 in its opener on Nov. 11 before embarking on a nine-game road stretch. The 49ers fell 92-55 at Wichita State on Nov. 13 and lost 93-67 at North Carolina on Nov. 15.

Juniors Justin Bibbins and Gabe Levin were honored on the preseason All-Big West team. Bibbins averaged 12.0
points and 5.1 assists last year as a second team All-Big West selection while Levin averaged 9.5 points and 5.9 rebounds per game last season.
