Field Hockey Player Spotlight on Nicole Woods

The University of Louisville field hockey's Player Spotlight series features short interviews with each of the Cardinals' players. Our 16th Player Spotlight is on junior Nicole Woods who was recently named to USA Field Hockey's Junior World Cup Roster.

In March 2016, she scored five goals in the 2016 Junior Pan American Championship to help Team USA to a silver medal and an automatic berth to the Junior Women's World Cup which will be held Nov. 23 - Dec. 4 in Santiago, Chile. Woods was previously a member of the U.S. Under-19 squad.

The forward/midfielder is in the midst of a solid junior campaign at Louisville. The 2015 All-ACC and NFHCA West Region selection has nine points (2G, 5A) after earned preseason All-ACC honors for the second straight year. She has helped the eighth-ranked Cardinals (10-2) maintain a top 10 ranking for the past five weeks.
