
Getting to Know Elise Koehl

Throughout the next few weeks, GoCards.com will unveil one member from the University of Louisville women's lacrosse's 2014-15 recruiting class. This week, Virginia resident native Elise Koehl is in the spotlight.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Elise Koehl is not only a talented on the lacrosse field but in the classroom as well. She is a great addition to the Louisville lacrosse team.

"Elise Koehl is a very calm and poised player," said head coach Kellie Young. "She can have a ferocious attacking mindset when the opportunity presents itself and we look forward to having her on the field."
A three-sport athlete at McLean High in Virginia, Koehl has lettered one year in field hockey, two years in track and all four years in lacrosse. Her senior year she led her team to the best record in school history and to the first regional win in over 20 years. She was also the team captain and finished her career with 235 goals, 331 points, and 96 assists.Â

Koehl has experienced a successful career at McLean in her first three years. A team captain in 2013, she earned MVP honors and was a member of the first team All-District and the All-Region team. She was also a member of the National High School DC Metro Team in both 2013 and 2014. In club play, Koehl was a captain of the U15 club national team. She is also a talent on the track team, qualifying for districts in 2012 and 2013.
"I chose Louisville because I love the pride the city has for the university," said Koehl. "Every person is invested in Louisville athletics and I had never seen so much school spirit before. The athletic facilities are incredible, the atmosphere on and off campus is so fun and the support I would have here helps every athlete strive academically and athletically."
Along with her achievements in lacrosse, Koehl was also successful in the classroom. She has been named a scholar athlete during all six of her varsity seasons while at McLean and was a member of the National Honor Society. Â
