LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville field hockey coach Justine Sowry has announced the 2015 schedule which includes 10 regular season games at Trager Stadium. Admission is free to all home games.
"The 2015 fall season is fast approaching and we couldn't be more excited to get started," said Sowry. "Heading into our second year within the ACC, the expectations will be higher following a successful 2014 campaign. It is a brand new year with a very different looking team. The schedule is a challenging one and it presents a great opportunity for our young squad to solidify itself as one of the top programs in the best conference in the country."
The Cardinals' 2015 slate features four top 10 teams including 2014 NCAA runner-up Syracuse and semifinalist North Carolina. Additionally eight of Louisville's 19 opponents finished last season ranked in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association top 20.
Over the past two seasons, Louisville has produced an 18-1 record at Trager Stadium and will look to defend its home turf against three teams ranked in the top 20 including No. 4 and NCAA runner-up Syracuse, No. 5 Wake Forest, No. 15 Virginia and No. 20 Liberty.
The Cardinals will play host to Iowa in a preseason scrimmage on August 22 and will welcome former players home for alumnae scrimmage on August 23 before opening the season against Appalachian State on August 28 and Indiana on August 30 at Trager Stadium.

The Cards will continue conference play with an Oct. 2 matchup at Duke before returning home to face UMass on Oct. 4. UofL will welcome 2014 NCAA runner-up Syracuse to Trager Stadium on Oct. 9 before embarking on a three-game road swing at Ohio State, Boston College and Northeastern. The Cardinals will celebrate Senior Day against Rutgers on Nov. 1.
The ACC Championship will be held Nov. 5-8 in Charlottesville, Va.
The Cardinals welcome eight newcomers and return 14 players including six starters from last season's team which posted a 15-6 overall record and went 3-3 in its inaugural ACC campaign. The Cards were ranked as high as No. 5 in the NFHCA coaches' poll and finished the season at No. 10 after spending the final six weeks ranked in the top 10.
