LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's golf team completed round one of the NCAA Lubbock Regional, posting a 1-under-par 283 to stand in eighth place on Thursday afternoon at the Rawls Course in Lubbock, Texas.

Sophomore J.D. Lehman and Max Walz paced the Cardinals with a 1-under-par 71, good enough to tie for 21st after the first day of competition. Lehman recorded six birdies on the afternoon, but suffered three bogeys and a double bogey to still shoot under par. Walz scored four birdies, including three on the front nine.

Junior Robin Sciot-Siegrist, an all-ACC selection, shot an even par 71 to sit in a tie for 36th overall. He birdied No. 1, No. 7 and No. 17, but was inconsistent most of the round.

Junior Gus Lundquist was 1-over par to stand in a tie for 42nd, while senior Antoine LeSaux is tied for 64th after his round of 4-over par.

The field, which boasts four top-25 teams and eight total ranked teams, is led by No. 2 Texas behind an 11-under par 273, while Houston is one shot behind the leaders.

Second-round action begins with LeSaux teeing off at 9 a.m. off hole No. 10.
