
Andrew Stewart Wins CardsCare Award at the Louies

Louisville, Ky. - Celebrating another year of banner accomplishments on the field and in the classroom, the University of Louisville athletic department honored its student-athletes and teams on Monday night at the second annual Louies. Track and Field's Andrew Stewart took home the CardsCare Award.
Stewart was also one of six Cardinals to earn the ACC Top Six for Service Award earlier in the week. The honor which is awarded annually at each ACC institution to student-athletes who are dedicated to serving others and have shown a passion for enriching the lives of others.
Stewart participated in a mission trip to Belize in conjunction with his church. He also worked closely with the Louisville Metro Parks and Recreation Adapted Leisure Activities program. This program provides activities to individuals with intellectual and/or physical disabilities. He is a regular volunteer for this organization and led athletics' involvement in various events such as the Fall Halloween Dance and Spring Fun Festival. Stewart has dedicated numerous hours as a tutor with The Cabbage Patch Settlement House, an organization to help at-risk youth in Louisville. He also serves on the SAAC Executive Board as the Community Outreach Representative.
He was also one of four Louisville student-athletes to earn the ACC's Postgraduate Scholarship.
