
Sluman Tied for Third at Northern Intercollegiate

DeKALB - - The University of Louisville men's golf team opened its fall season as senior Trevor Sluman tied for third overall during the first round of the fifth annual Northern Intercollegiate Friday at Rich Harvest Farms.
Sluman fired a 2-under par 70 to help the Cardinals to a sixth-place day with two rounds to play. The Cardinals are 11 shots behind Winthrop, who leads the way with 285. Ohio State is second at 290 and Purdue is third at 293. The Cardinals lead fellow ACC foe Virginia by one stroke, who are seventh at 297.
Sluman played well on the afternoon, recording birdies on No. 9, No. 12, No. 14 and No. 17.
Max Walz and J.D. Lehman were the next highest finishers for the Cardinals, shooting 3-over par 75, while Robert Geibel is tied for 37th after he shot 76. Gus Lundquist is tied for 45th after shooting 77 and Antoine LeSaux, who was playing as an individual, shot 73.a
