Mason Named ACC Field Hockey Co-Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Louisville senior back Mallory Mason has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Co-Player of the Week along with Virginia's Tara Vittese.
Mason was instrumental in the 14th-ranked Cardinals' 3-2 upset of No. 1 North Carolina. She scored her second and third goals of the season on penalty corners to give Louisville a 2-0 lead in the first half. After the Tar Heels tied the game, the native of Simsbury, Conn started the corner that resulted in the eventual game-winning goal. The victory was the first over a top-ranked opponent in program history.
