Two UofL Field Hockey Games to be Aired on ESPN3

Two University of Louisville field hockey home games will be televised on ESPN3 and regionally as part of the Atlantic Coast Conference's Olympic Sport conference package. The Cards' Oct. 3 game against 2013 NCAA runner-up Duke will kick off the league's field hockey coverage while the Oct. 17 matchup against Boston College will also be televised.
The UofL field hockey broadcasts are two of six regular season conference games picked up by ESPN networks. The ACC quarterfinals (Nov. 6), semifinals (Nov. 7) and championship game (Nov. 8) will also be carried live on ESPN3.
In all, a record 122 ACC fall contests will appear on an ESPN network, including six televised on ESPNU and 116 carried on ESPN3. All ESPN coverage will also be available on the WatchESPN mobile app.
The Cardinals return eight starters and 18 letterwinners from the 2013 team which posted a 15-5 record - the most wins since 2001 - and earned a share of the BIG EAST Regular season title with a 6-1 record in league play. Among the returners are National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-West Region team members Alyssa Voelmle, Sydney King and Elisa Garcia.
UofL will open the 2014 season on August 29 against Saint Louis at Trager Stadium at 4 p.m.
