Lehman Qualifies for U.S. Amateur Championship

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville men's golfer J.D. Lehman has qualified for the 2014 United States Amateur Championship, scheduled to take place Aug. 11-17 at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Ga.
A sophomore, Lehman qualified for the event with his performance on July 7-8 at the Blythewood Country Club in Columbia, S.C. He finished tied for third at the qualifying round by shooting 65-70. This marks the first time Lehman has qualified for the U.S. Amateur.
Lehman had a solid freshman season in 2013-14. The Bluffton, S.C., native compiled a 74.14 stroke average while appearing in five of the team's six events last season, with his highest finish being a tied-for-15th showing at the Pinetree Intercollegiate in Kennesaw, Ga.
