Softball to Face UCF in American Championship Game

The game was originally scheduled to be played Saturday, but inclement weather in the area forced Friday's the semifinal game between UCF and Rutgers to be postponed until Saturday.
The Cardinals (35-20) opened the tournament with a 6-3 win over sixth-seeded Temple to set up a semifinal matchup with the No. 2 seed USF. In that game, senior Rachel LeCoq tossed a complete game shutout Louisville backed her with eight runs highlighted by Katie Keller's first career grand slam and Brittany Duncan's two run homer.
UCF faced eighth-seeded UConn and used a school record five home runs en route to a 6-0 win. In the semifinal against the No. 5 seed Rutgers, UCF scored five runs in the second to take a 5-2 lead which increased to 8-2. After a late-inning rally by the Scarlet Knights, UCF held on for an 8-5 win.

Louisville 1- UCF 0
The Cards took the first game 1-0 when Maggie Ruckenbrod's sacrifice fly in the seventh broke a scoreless tie. Rachel LeCoq got the win in 2-2 innings of relief. Mackenzie Audas took the loss.
UCF 3 - Louisville 2
The Cards took a 1-0 lead behind Maryssa Becker's second inning solo home run. Kahley Novak's RBI triple tied the score in the third. An RBI hit by Mariah Garcia and Farrah Sullivan's RBI hit in the fourth gave UCF a 3-1 lead. The Cards got a run back on Becker's RBI single in the sixth, but would get no closer. Rachel LeCoq took the loss while Shelby Turnier got the win.
UCF 5 - Louisville 1
The teams played through five scoreless innings before UCF broke through with five runs - highlighted by Jessica Ujvari's grand slam in the bottom of the sixth. Louisville's Taner Fowler put the Cardinals on the scoreboard with a solo shot in the seventh. Becker took the loss, while Mackenzie Audas got the win.
