LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville women's lacrosse's Nikki Boltja and Kaylin Morissette are Inside Lacrosse midseason third team All-Americans, the organization announced Tuesday.
Boltja, who has earned BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors three times this season, leads the Cardinals in goals with 37 and points with 47 - both marks that lead the BIG EAST. The senior has logged at least three goals in a game on seven occasions this season. Nationally, Boltja's goal total is third most in the country, while her point total is seventh-best nationally.
The Medina, Ohio, native's 4.11 goals per game rank No. 1 in the league and second nationally, and her 5.22 points per game, also a BIG EAST leading mark, is eighth best in the nation.
Morissette, who is compiling a standout sophomore campaign, has 21 goals and 71 draw controls through nine games this season. She has four games with at least three goals and seven contests with at least seven draw controls.
The Bowmanville, Ontario, native is averaging 7.89 draw controls per game, which ranks first in the BIG EAST and third nationally, while she boasts the No. 11 position in the league in ground balls per game. Notably, Morissette's 71 draw controls through just nine games are five more than last year's total of 66 in 17 games. She is just nine draw controls shy of setting the single-season record currently held by Emily Dashiell (79 in 2011).
