Men's Golf Concludes Hayt Invitational in 11th Place

Ponte Vedra, Fla. - - The University of Louisville men's golf team finished in 11th place Tuesday at the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational. The Cardinals entered the final round in a tie for eighth place but fired a 302 to fall three spots.
The first round of the tournament was suspended by heavy rains and inclement weather, which forced the 15-team field to finish 36-holes on Monday. The Cardinals finished the three-day tournament up with scores of 297-290-302=889.
The No. 2 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys cruised to a victory at The Hayt. Individually, UCF's Greg Eason edged out UAB's Sam Love by three strokes.
Playing in the No. 1 position, Robert Geibel paced the Cardinals with a 21st-place finish in the team's first event of the spring by shooting 73-70-75=218.
Entering the day in fourth place, Max Walz shot an 80 on Tuesday to slip into a tie for 30th-place overall. He finished the tournament with scores of 72-68-80=220.
Robin Sciot-Siegrist fired rounds of 75-76-76=227 to tie for 54th-place, while J.D. Lehman finished in a tie for 66th at 79-76-76=231.
Antoine Le Saux tied for 69th-place after shooting 79-76-76=231.
Louisville returns to action March 10 when the Cardinals compete at the General Hackler Tournament in South Carolina.
