LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville track and field teams return to action after their shortest break of the year, competing at the Indiana Relays this weekend at the Gladstein Fieldhouse in Bloomington, Ind.
The two-day event begins on Friday in the afternoon and resumes early Saturday with a full schedule. The meet is slated to host 1,220 athletes and features teams, including Indiana, such as Notre Dame, Cincinnati, Alabama, Illinois, and Ohio State.
Last time out, the Cardinals competed at the Vanderbilt Invitational from Jan. 24-25, when Sam Bombaugh (weight throw) and Ben Williams (triple jump) each recorded wins in their respective competitions.

The first day of action showcases a balanced mix of field and track events. Following a couple of events at 3 p.m. on Friday, Brad Vivace leads a quartet of throwers in the men's shot put at 5:20 p.m. He has a league-leading throw of 18.18m/59-7.75.
Calvin Arsenault highlights the early track events, competing in the 60m hurdles. He ran a time of 8.00 in the event last week and ranks third in the conference. Alexis Murry is one of three running in the women's section, where she boasts a No. 7 ranking in the league.
The Cardinals conclude the day with the men's 3,000m invitational and the women's distance medley relay. Though early in the year, Louisville's women's squad has the 27th-fastest time in the DMR with a mark of 11:54.63.
Day two, on the track, begins with four sprinting events before 10:30 a.m., including the women's and men's sections of the 400m at 9:35 a.m. and 9:50 a.m., respectively.
At 10 a.m., Patrice Gates is scheduled to take part in the weight throw invitational. Her personal-best mark of 19.54m/64-1.25 achieved last week puts her at No. 28 nationally.
Following the women's long jump, where Brittany Owens ranks 32nd in the country, Guillaume Victorin and two-time AAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week Williams are scheduled to participate in the men's event. Victorin has the 17th-best jump in the nation with a leap of 7.48m/24-6.50.
In the men's weight throw, Bombaugh carries his season-best and AAC-leading mark of 18.94m/62-1.75 into action at noon.
After four-straight sprinting events, including Taylor Bradley running in the women's 400m, Kelsey Cramsey and Andrew Stewart participate in their respective 800m competitions.
The Cardinals conclude the meet with the women's 4x800m relay and then the women's and men's 4x400m events.
