
Women's Lacrosse's Boltja, Morissette Earns Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville women's lacrosse's Nikki Boltja and Kaylin Morissette received postseason honors from Synapse Sports, it was announced Tuesday.
Boltja was named a third team All-American, while Morissette garnered all-rookie team honors.
This is Boltja's third postseason award in 2013, previously collecting all-region and all-conference accolades. The Medina, Ohio, native, also a first team all-BIG EAST honoree, finished the season with 63 goals and 11 assists for 74 points. She ranks No. 1 in the BIG EAST in goals per game (3.71) and free-position goals per game (1.0), tied for first in game-winning goals (4), and No. 2 in points per game (4.35), while nationally she is second in goals per game, sixth in total goals, No. 13 in points per game, and 22nd in points. Her point and goal totals rank third best in a season in school history.
Morissette, who became the first freshman in program history to earn all-BIG EAST honors. She won a team-best 66 draw controls, a number that is third most in a season in school history, and ranked second on the team in total goals (43), caused turnovers (21), and third in points (45). The Bowmanville, Ontario, native ranks second in the BIG EAST and 23rd nationally in draw controls per game (3.88) and fifth in the conference in goals per game (2.53). She scored a hat trick on 10 occasions this season.
The Cardinals concluded the season winning their final three games, posting an 11-6 overall record, with a 3-5 mark in league play. Louisville went 8-1 at home, its best record in program history.
