Men's Golf Eighth at Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic

CHULA VISTA, Calif. - The University of Louisville men's golf team improved by four strokes in the second round and sit in eighth place after the first day of the Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic. Louisville carded 302-298=600 on the day.
San Diego State fired a 574 while TCU sits three strokes back in the 14-team field. San Diego's Grant Forrest leads the 84-man field with a 6-under par 138.
Freshman Robin Sciot-Siegrist continues to pace the Cardinals. Sciot-Siegrist fired a 2-under par 70 in the first round before an even par 72 in the second round. He is tied for fourth.
Maximilian Walz fired a 76 in the first round. Walz improved by three strokes in the second round at the 7,033-yd San Diego Country Club and is tied for 27th at 149.
Henry Tomlinson and Gus Lundquist are tied for 61st at 155. Tomlinson shot 77 in the first round and a 78 in the second round. Lundquist fired rounds of 79 and 76.
Trevor Sluman rounded out Louisville's lineup and is tied for 81st at 162. Sluman shot a 85 in the first round and a 77 in the second round.
Louisville returns to the course for the third and final round at 11 a.m. ET on Tuesday. Live scoring is available through GolfStat.com
