LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Preparations for the 2013 University of Louisville football team will begin officially on Wednesday morning when head coach Charlie Strong unveils his recruiting class on National Signing Day.
Strong, who expects to sign a smaller than usual group because of a small senior class, will address the media at 2 p.m. and officially unveil the new group of signees.
The Cardinals are coming off an 11-2 campaign that was capped off with a dominating performance in the 2013 Allstate Sugar Bowl with a 33-23 victory over the Florida Gators.
Louisville returns seven starters on the offensive side of the football and 10 starters on defense. Junior quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, a Heisman Trophy candidate, will lead the offense after throwing for 3,718 yards and 27 touchdowns.
Defensively, the Cardinals return everyone on defense with the exception of cornerback Adrian Bushell. Senior Preston Brown and junior Calvin Pryor are back as the two top tacklers. Brown registered a career-high 109 stops, while Pryor added 100.
Louisville continue winter workouts when the 2013 mat drills begin on Wednesday morning at 6 a.m. in the Trager Indoor Practice Facility before the coaches await the faxes from their signees beginning at 7 a.m.
