
Tomlinson and Hadwin Qualify for Prestigious Events

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - A current member of the University of Louisville men's golf program and an alumnus are preparing for upcoming prestigious events.
Sophomore Henry Tomlinson qualified yesterday for the Jones Cup, one of the highest prestigious amateur tournaments. Tomlinson shot an even-par 72 and earned one of the five available spots. The Jones Cup will take place from Jan. 31 through Feb. 3 at Ocean Forest Golf Club in Sea Island, Ga. The field includes both nationally ranked collegiate players and nationally ranked amateurs.
Adam Hadwin fired a 64 at the Farmers Insurance Open Monday qualified at El Camino Country Club to earn a spot in this week's Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in La Jolly, Calif. The purse is $6.1 million with the winner earning $1.08 million. Hadwin competes on the Web.com Tour after just missing earning his PGA Tour Card. The first two rounds on Thursday and Friday will be aired on the Golf Channel. The rounds on Saturday and Sunday will air on CBS.
Six other members of the men's golf team competed at the qualification for the Jones Cup. Maximilian Walz fired a 73. Antoine LeSaux carded a 78. Gus Lundquist shot a 79 while Charlie Macneal and Trevor Sluman both shot an 80. Daniel Iceman added a round of 82.
