Men's Golf Finishes Second at The McLaughlin

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - The University of Louisville men's golf team notched its second runner-up finish of the fall season at The McLaughlin on Sunday afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Cardinals moved up two spots after being in fourth at the end of the first round to finish at 286-282-273=841.
Auburn won the 16-team tournament with a two-day score of 830. The Tigers' Jake Mondy took medalist honors at 8-under par after he carded 202.
Sunday's action featured the conclusion of the second round, which was suspended due to darkness with two pairings on the course, and the third round.
Maximilian Walz finished third for his third top 10 finish at Louisville after a 1-under 69 in the second round and a 1-over 71 in the final round. Walz finished at 2-under 68-69-71=208.
Antoine LeSaux added his second top 10 finish in as many matches at Louisville. LeSaux placed 10th and carded rounds of 69 and 68 in the second and third round after a first round score of 74 to finish at 1-over 211.
Henry Tomlinson narrowly missed out on his second career top 10 finish and ended in a three-way tie for 11th. The sophomore carded a 71 in the second round and a 69 in the final round for a two-day total of 212.
Robin Sciot-Siegrist tied for 15th. The freshman finished the final round with a 2-under 68 after he carded a 73 in the second round.
Gus Lundquist rounded out Louisville's lineup. Lundquist fired a 75 in the second round and a 68 in the third round to finish at 216 and in a tie for 26th.
Louisville returns to action on Sept. 24 when they host the U of L Cardinal Club.
