Walz Qualifies for Omega Masters

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - University of Louisville sophomore men's golfer Max Walz won the WAGR Event/Memorial Olivier Barras by shooting 208 at GC Crans sur Sierre in Switzerland last week.

Walz qualified for the Omega Masters, a high-profile event on the European Tour on Aug. 30-Sept 2. The Omega is worldwide event, which is televised on the Golf Channel.

Playing as a freshman in 2011-12, Walz appeared in five events, posting a pair of top 10 finishes. He was fifth at the Wolfpack Open and tied for 10th at the BIG EAST championships.
