LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Each week, UofLsports.com will unveil one member from the University of Louisville women's lacrosse's 2012-13 recruiting class. This week features another New York native, as Emily Ryan is in the spotlight.
"Emily's natural athleticism and passion for the game have elevated her play over the last two years," head coach Kellie Young says. "I am so impressed with who she has become and can't wait to see the continued growth that will help elevate this program in her four years in Louisville."
A product of Niskayuna, N.Y., Ryan was a four-year varsity lacrosse starter at Niskayuna High. She was a three-time Suburban Council All-Star, also garnering first team all-region and all-state honors. Ryan was inducted into the Adirondack Lacrosse Hall of Fame, which was established to recognize individuals who have made important contributions to the sport of lacrosse.
One of three children, her brother, Kevin, was part of Boston University's club ski team, while her sister, Kelsey, was part of Oneonta State's lacrosse team in 2011.
