LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Each week, UofLsports.com will unveil one member from the University of Louisville women's lacrosse's 2012-13 recruiting class. This week, Pennsylvania native Cortnee Daley is in the spotlight.
"A dynamic and impactful player, Cortnee will be an immediate presence all over the field," head coach Kellie Young said. "She plays with a tremendous energy and fire that elevates everyone around her. As good as she already is, there is still so much more to come and we can't wait."
The highly decorated student-athlete from Horsham, Pa., heads to Louisville after excelling in lacrosse and field hockey at Hatboro-Horsham High.
In lacrosse, Daley was named a U.S. Lacrosse first team All-American along with being tabbed an all-league honoree in 2012. A two-year team captain and team MVP, she earned Suburban 1 all-League first team honors in 2011 and 2012 as well as all-Intel first team accolades each of those years. In 2010, Daley garnered Suburban 1 all-League second-team status, while being selected as her team's most versatile player.
Daley experienced similar success in field hockey, earning PSFHCA all-state honorable mention accolades in 2011. That season, serving as team captain, she was named to the Suburban 1 all-League first team. A year prior, Daley earned all-league third team honors.
One of three children, Daley was an honor roll member all four years of high school.
