LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville rowers Morgan Dunham, Kayla Kroninger, Katya Monchenko, Lauren Proctor-Brown, Hannah Ritter and Amy Van Syoc have been selected as National Scholar-Athletes by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association.
"I am extremely proud of these ladies and their successes. It is no small task to manage playing a sport and one's academics at the level these ladies have," said Louisville head coach Laura Aubrey. "They all serve as great representatives of the sport, our program and this university and I could not be happier for their achievements both on and off the water. A big congratulations goes out to each of them for their continued efforts to achieve academic and athletic excellence."
Dunham, a sophomore from Te Puke, New Zealand, and Kroninger, a junior from Westerville, Ohio, are majoring in exercise sports sciences. Monchenko, a junior from Moscow, Russia, is majoring in economics, while Proctor-Brown, a junior from Glendale, Wis., is majoring in equine business. Ritter, a sophomore from Louisville, is majoring in computer information sciences and Van Syoc, a sophomore from Milford, Ohio, is majoring in communications.
Both Kroninger and Proctor-Brown are two-time Scholar-Athlete honorees having earned the award last season. The 2012 season marks the sixth straight year the Cardinals have had at least five rowers earn CRCA National Scholar-Athlete accolades.
