LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Robin Sciot-Siegrist, Antoine Le Saux and Gus Lundquist have signed National-Letters-of-Intent with the University of Louisville men's golf program, head coach Mark Crabtree announced on Monday.
Sciot-Siegrist, who hails from Paris, France, captured the French U-18 national championship in 2011 and the U-16 national championship in 2009. He is also the Paris U-18 champion and placed 26th at the 2011 British Boys Championship.
The 12th-ranked amateur in France, Sciot-Siegrist is also ranked 437th in the World Amateur Rankings.
"Robin is the highest-ranked amateur ever to be recruited to the University of Louisville," said Crabtree. "He is a very established player, both in France and worldwide, and is a great fit for our program. His impact will be immediate. He has all the tools to make his mark on college golf here in the United States."
Le Saux, who hails from Caudan, France, attends Wingate University, where he is one of the top-ranked Division II players in the country. He won the 2011 Grand Prix of Baden and was the French junior champion in 2005 and 2007.
His resume includes being the first amateur ever to win on the Carolina's Pro Tour when he won a Mini Tour event in North Carolina. In addition, Le Saux was a quarterfinalist at the Italian Amateur in 2011.
"Antoine is an excellent player who will be transferring from the Division II level," Crabtree stated. "His win on the Carolina Pro Tour shows the talent he possesses. I really like his work ethic and approach to the game. He will also make an immediate impact for the program and I see him being one of the leaders on the team."
Lundquist comes to Louisville from Regis High School in Parker, Colo. He was a two-time Colorado All-State selection and captured the 5A state championship in 2011 after finishing as runner-up in 2010.
His resume also includes the 2012 FCWT Wigwam champion. Lundquist is a recipient of the University of Louisville National Scholars Program.
"Gus comes to us from Denver where he attended Regis High School," added Crabtree. "Gus is the ultimate student-athlete. He has excelled in both the classroom and on the golf course. His best golf is ahead of him. He has won twice in the last six months and is only going to get better as he gets into college. I see a great future for this young man."
