KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - The University of Louisville men's golf team improved two strokes from the first round to fire a 290-288=578 and sits in ninth through two rounds at the 15th-annual Irish Creek Collegiate.
No. 21 Kent State leads the 13-team field at 653, two strokes ahead of Mercer. Xavier's Sebastian MacLean leads the field overall after firing a 10-under 134.
Chris Malec fired a 71-67=138 on the 6,823-yard, par-72 course to lead the Cardinals and is tied for eighth. Daniel Iceman carded 68-74=142 and its tied for 16th.
Henry Tomlinson added rounds of 75-74=149 and is tied for 48th. Nick Umholtz carded 76-75=151 and is tied for 56th. Chris Biuso sits four spots behind Umholtz after rounds of 79-73=152.
