Louisville, Ky. - Head coach Charlie Strong changed practice up a little bit on Wednesday afternoon and make things a little more interesting.
Strong opened practice by going right to the goal line and pitting the offense versus the defense in short-yardage situations. He likes to change things up and get the players to compete.
The offense dominated play, scoring 10 times in the first 12 possessions. The offense continued to control the line of scrimmage in the Oklahoma drill, which is a three-on-three drill. For the afternoon, the offense won against the defense.nn
Tight end Gerald Christian, who transferred from Florida and is sitting out this season, continues to be someone to watch for the next couple of years, while junior running back Dominique Brown is running with more power. Running back Corvin Lamb has been impressive with his balance and vision running the football.
Defensive tackle Jamaine Brooks has continued to develop at defensive tackle and will team with Brandon Dunn in the fall. The Cardinals are also playing without Roy Philon at tackle.
Former U of L great Ted Washington was in attendance at practice, visiting the coaching staff.
The Cardinals will practice on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning at 10 a.m. to be at the half-waay point of the spring.
