
Emily Cummings Joins Field Hockey Coaching Staff

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - University of Louisville head field hockey coach Justine Sowry has announced that Emily Cummings has joined the coaching staff as an assistant.
"We are excited to have Emily join the Cardinal field hockey staff as she embarks on her first collegiate coaching role," said Sowry. "Emily comes from a storied collegiate program and has been mentored by some of the best coaches in the USA. She has a passion for the game, is enthusiastic to learn and is ready to make an impact with our young team."
Cummings joins the Cardinals after a four-year career at Wake Forest, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Studio Art and Sociology. While playing for the Demon Deacons, she was a four-year starter and a three-time National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-South Region selection. She was a member of four NCAA tournament teams including two NCAA runner-up finishes.
She served as coach in the USA Field Hockey Futures program from 2008-10. Cummings has also coached at several field hockey camps including: Wake Forest, Duke and James Madison.
