Men's Golf Finishes Second in Fall Finale

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's golf team made a late charge but could not catch Jacksonville State at the WKU/Kenny Perry Invitational at The Club at Olde Stone. The Cardinals fired a 307 on Tuesday to finish their final fall tournament at 315-308-307=930.

Louisville, which concluded its fall season with one tournament win and three runners-up, finished two strokes behind Jacksonville State.

The extremely tough course, the site of two previous NCAA Regionals, proved to be a tough challenge for the 60 player field. Akron's Charlie Bull took medalist honors with a 9-over par 225.

Henry Tomlinson placed sixth to finish the fall slate with three top 10 finishes. Tomlinson carded a 76 to finish at 78-77-76=231.

Maximilian Walz placed seventh. Walz fired a team-low 75 in the third round to finish at 81-76-75=232. Robin Sciot-Siegrist shot an 80 on Tuesday. Sciot-Siegrist finished ninth for his team-leading fourth top 10 finish this fall. Sciot-Siegrist carded 79-75-80=234 for the three-day tournament.

Trevor Sluman tied for 12th in his first collegiate tournament in the Cardinals' lineup. Sluman fired a 76 in the third round to finish at 81-80-76=237. Antoine LeSaux tied for 15th. He carded an 81 on Tuesday to finish at 77-80-81=238. Louisville will open its spring season at the USF Intercollegiate held in Tampa, Fla. from March 3-5.
