
Football Solid in the Classroom

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - While the University of Louisville football won a BIG EAST title and advanced to the postseason for the second straight season, the Cardinals continue to excel in the classroom as well.
Grades were posted for the 2011 UofL Fall Semester and 34 Cardinals players on its roster achieved a 3.0 or better grade point average. The team posted a combined 2.63 GPA for the semester and Bo Eggers and Grant Donovan achieved a 4.0 GPA for the semester.
"I'm happy the way we continue to strive and do a great job in the classroom," said UofL Head Football Coach Charlie Strong. "With all the obligations we put on the them during the season, it's a good statement for the student-athletes in this program and how important academics are to their future."
The Cardinals continue to progress in the classroom under Strong, as the Cardinals have achieved a 2.5 or better team GPA in every semester since the coaching stafff arrived on campus.
The Cardinals finished the season at 7-6 after a 31-24 loss to NC State in the Belk Bowl.
