LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville football team hosted its first open practice session of the 2011 preseason camp in front of more than 1,000 fans on Friday at the grass practice fields outside of Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
Here are some notes from Friday's practice:
- The Cardinals' full squad practiced for the first time in the preseason camp working two hours and 24 periods in helmets and shorts.
- Louisville's first team offensive line on Friday included junior left tackle Alex Kupper, sophomore left guard Kamran Joyer, junior center Mario Benavides, redshirt freshman right guard Jake Smith and senior right tackle Ryan Kessling.
- The Cards' first team defensive line during Friday's practice included senior William Savoy, senior Greg Scruggs, sophomore Brandon Dunn and sophomore Malcolm Mitchell.
- Friday's practice started at 5:30 p.m., ET and featured overcast skies and temperatures in the upper 80's throughout the two-hour session.
- The Cardinals will continue preseason drills with the second and final open practice session on Saturday at 11:30 a.m., ET at the grass practice fields.
