Tredway Joins Men's Golf Program

Louisville, Ky. - - University of Louisville head men's golf coach Mark Crabtree has announced the hiring of Andrew Tredway, as an assistant coach on Friday.
Tredway has spent the last three seasons as the head coach at Mercer University, guiding the Bears to unprecedented success. Under his direction, the Bears climbed to its first top 100 ranking in one year and Tredway landed three straight top 25 recruiting classes from 2008-2011.
He helped lead the Bears to its first at-large bid (individual bid) to the NCAA postseason in school history (2008-2009), and also guided his squad to a third-place finish in the league, its best-conference standing in 16 years. During his tenure, he coached five Academic All-Americans and was one of only five conference sports to have every member of the team on the All-Academic squad.
"I'm pleased to have Andrew join our program," said Crabtree. "He had the ability to grow a couple programs that he inherited and he really understands how to develop players. His strengths are working with players and he understands all facets of running a program. He is a good teacher and has a tremendous passion for college golf."
Before coming to Mercer, Tredway spent three seasons as the head coach at Texas Pan-American, where he guided his teams to two tournament titles and sparked the program to its highest ranking in the program's history.
Tredway worked with the No.1 golf instructor in the world, Hank Haney from 2003-05. Tredway was an instructor at a 15 full-week junior camp and provided instruction to almost 1,500 junior golfers ranging from 5-17.
Tredway spent one season as an assistant at the University of Alabama during the 2002-03 campaign.
As a player, Tredway won five times and holds five course records on United States mini-tours while playing on the Australasian PGA Tour.
Tredway, a 2000 graduate of the University of Oregon, was an outstanding golfer for the Ducks, guiding Oregon to an 18-place finish at the NCAA Championships in 1999 and 28th in 1998. He earned Pac-10 All-Conference honors in 1999.
