
Men's Golf Places 15th at Furman Intercollegiate

Greenville, S.C. - The University of Louisville men's golf team moved up five spots to finish 15th at the 22 team Furman Intercollegiate on Sunday afternoon in Greenville, S.C. The Cardinals shot a 298 in the final round at the par-72 6,994-yard Furman Golf Club and finished at 38-over 902, 54 strokes behind Clemson.
Clemson fired a tournament record round of 16-under 272 to clinch their second straight title after rallying from a four stroke deficit at the start of the day while Purdue's William Sjaichudin claimed individual medalist honors at 10-under 206.
Chris Malec and Charlie Macneal were the top finishers for the Cardinals, finishing tied for 59th. Malec shot par in the final round and finished at 79-75-72=226 while Macneal carded 77-75-74. Justin Dorward tied for 69th shooting 75-73-80=228. Karsten Clements shot 78-72-80=230 and tied for 85th while Sebastian Szirmak shot par in the final round to card 79-81-72=232.
Chris Biuso competed as an individual and finished tied for 59th after round of 75-75-76=226.
The Cardinals return to action at the UALR/First Tee Classic in Little Rock, Ark. on March 28-29.
