
Field Hockey Moves into Top Ten

The University of Louisville field hockey team moved up two spots to No. 10 in the National Field Hockey Coaches' Association poll. The Cards (6-2) are coming off of a 2-0 performance over the weekend after posting a 6-1 win over Georgetown and a 7-1 victory over Radford.
This is Louisville's highest ranking since Sept. 5, 2006 when it was also No. 10 in the NFHCA poll. The Cards earned the best ranking in school history at No. 4 on Sept. 10, 2002.
Senior Nicole Youman is second in the nation with 12 goals and 30 points on the season. Goalkeeper Erin Conrad is No. 15 in the nation with a 1.29 goals against average.
The Cardinals are also among the nations team leaders, appearing at No. 5 in several categories including: scoring average (3.88), goals per game (4.13) an scoring margin (2.59); and are No. 10 in winning percentage (0.75).
U of L will go on the road to face No. 9 Syracuse in a BIG EAST Conference matchup on Sept. 25.
