The University of Louisville lacrosse team returns home after eight straight away games by hosting Loyola at 1 p.m. on Friday at U of L Lacrosse Stadium. Admission is free.
The Cardinals (7-3) come home on a three-game winning streak after defeating Longwood 17-10 on Sunday, a game in which Bergan Foley found the back of the net six times for her 10th career game with at least six goals. Foley has led the nation in goals per game the past three weeks.
The Cardinals feature BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week Danielle Pawliw, who went 3-0 last week to become the first goalie in U of L Lacrosse history to win three games in a single week. Pawliw set a school record for saves in a single game during the victory over Old Dominion.
Loyola (8-4) comes into Louisville on a one-game losing streak. The Greyhounds fell 11-10 on Monday at the Ridley Athletic Complex to Notre Dame on an Ansley Stewart goal with six seconds left.
Loyola's Grace Gavin was the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week with three goals and four assists in a victory over Cincinnati last week.
Last season, the Cardinals rallied from a 6-1 deficit to defeat the Greyhounds 13-12 to earn the number four seed in the BIG EAST Tournament in Washington D.C.
