
Louisville Lacrosse to Contiune Homestand on Saturday

The University of Louisville lacrosse team remains home for the third of five straight home games when they play host to Jacksonville at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the University of Louisville Lacrosse Stadium. The game will be broadcasted on tape delay on WHAS at 1:35 a.m. on Monday, April 19th. Sean Moth will be providing the play-by-play, while Patty Norton will handle the color commentary. Admission to the game is free.
The Cardinals (7-5) are looking to bounce back from a two-game losing streak after falling to nationally ranked Loyola (MD) and nationally ranked Georgetown. On Sunday afternoon, the Cardinals dropped a 17-13 decision to No. 14 Georgetown. The Cardinals shut-out Georgetown during the final 27:29, and went on a 6-0 run of their own to cut the lead to four. Katie Oliverio tied her single-game school record with five assists, with four of them coming in the second half. Oliverio was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for the week on Monday. Bergan Foley scored her 50th goal of the season in the second half to start the Cardinal rally. Emily Dashiell caused seven turnovers and was instrumental in the Cardinals charge.
Jacksonville (5-6) comes into Louisville on a two game losing streak. The Dolphins fell to Longwood 15-8 on Saturday, April 10th in Charlotte, N.C. Ellyn Spangenberg and Megan Lusby scored two goals apiece for Jacksonville. Former University of Louisville lacrosse goalie Jen Heup is in her first season as the graduate assistant coach at Jacksonville.
The Cardinals and Dolphins have never met before. This is the first season of varsity lacrosse for Jacksonville.
