
Women's Golf Finishes 18th at Tiger/Wave Classic

New Orleans, La. - The Louisville women's golf team finished 18th at the Tiger/Wave Classic on Sunday afternoon in New Orleans, La. The Cardinals shot their tournament low of 304 in the final round to finish with a score of 934. Auburn, the nation's second ranked team, shot an even par 288 in Sunday's final round to defeat second-place TCU by seven strokes. The Tigers posted a combined 27-over par in the three-round tournament co-hosted by Tulane and LSU.
Junior Sara-Maude Juneau continued to climb up the leader board in the final round. Juneau shot a 70 to move up 24 spots on the final day. She finished tied at 24th with a score of 227. LSU's Megan McChrystal, in a battle with Virginia's Calle Nielson all afternoon, birdied the 18th hole to win the tournament with a score of 213.
Redshirt freshman Anna-Karin Ljungstrom had her best performance in the final round, shooting a 72. Ljungstrom moved up 19 spots to finish tied at 55th with a score of 233. Senior Daphne Parker shot an 82 in the final round to finish tied at 86th with a score of 240.
Freshman Candice Wiley shot an 80 in the final round and finished tied at 101st with a score of 244. Sophomore Maria Castellanos shot an 82 in the final round. Castellanos finished tied at 107th with a score of 246.
The Cardinals will be back in action on Monday, March 22nd in the BYU Dixie Classic. It is still unknown when junior starter Laura Anderson will return to the lineup. Anderson sustained an ankle injury at the start of the spring season.
